Existing road traffic collision report
You can apply for a copy of any existing road traffic collision report the police have made and request an interview with the police officer who dealt with the incident, providing the police investigation has concluded.
Please note that charges will be applied for these requests. Devon & Cornwall Police refer to the national guidelines for minimum charges.
You may wish to consider making the request via your solicitor or insurance company as they may be able to recover the cost for you.
Search for Police records following a Road Traffic Collision
For this service, we use STRIPE to provide secure online payment where you will be charged a one-off search fee. Once satisfied with the legitimacy of your request and your identity, we will provide you with a list of the related police records held and instructions about how to request and pay for any items you require. Whilst not a exhaustive list, police record could include police collision report(s), police statements, witness statements, incident logs or exhibits such as photographs or media footage.
Limited Particular Request
For this service, we use STRIPE to provide secure online payment where you will be charged a one-off search fee. A Limited Particular request means we will supply you with the name, address and vehicle details of the drivers involved in the Road Traffic Collision and nothing else.
Cancellation Charges
Your request will be processed by Devon & Cornwall Police Collisions and Tickets Disclosure Office once confirmation is received that your payment has cleared. If you choose to cancel your request once a search has been conducted, cancellation charges will be applied. In the event a request is cancelled prior to a seach being made, a full refund will be returned to you. Any cancellation fee will be deducted from your total payment and the remainder returned to you.
